Imphal, March 15 2022:
A large scale transfer of teachers from Moirangpurel High School in Andro Constituency which is considered as one of the finest Government schools in Manipur has left many infuriated.
Reportedly, all the teachers of the primary section (Class I to V) of the school which has about 200 students have been transferred to other schools by the Education Department recently.
The management committee of Moirangpurel High School now runs the school and educates the students by hiring teachers with the help of MLA Th Shyamkumar.
There is also a shortage of teachers for the upper class too (Class VI to X) which has about 380 students as a number of Science, Home Science and English teachers have been transferred from the school.

It is reported that classes for the primary section began from March 14 (Monday) after hiring private teachers.
Speaking to media persons, Th Nabachandra, a member of Moirangpurel High School Management Committee, stated that the school which is considered as one of the best Government schools in Manipur and has a high rate of enrolment and pass percentage in BoSEM examination currently has about 600 students (Class I to X) .
Unfortunately, the school doesn't have a single primary teacher as all of them have been transferred to other schools by the Education Department recently, he rued and continued that the strength of teachers for the upper class has also reduced considerably due to rapid transferring.
Saying that Moirangpurel High School has been playing key roles in imparting education to the children of Andro and its neighbouring areas, he asked if some people are deliberately trying to abolish the school.
Transferring the teachers of the school one after another without assessing the ground situation is very unfortunate, Nabachandra asserted and urged the authority concerned to fill the vacant posts in the larger interest of the students.
Different forms of agitation will be launched if the demand is not entertained, he said.
