Cash aid given to families of VDF duo, drivers

Imphal West District VDF Welfare Association on Tuesday extended a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh each to families of two deceased VDF personnel namely Ingudam Sushil of Kwakeithel Lourokchambi and K Janmanjoy, who was posted at NSU Koutruk.
In a release, publicity secretary of the association S Romesh Singh informed that Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta Singh handed over the money to spouses of the deceased personnel.
The aid has been provided under the supervision of SP and from the fund of district welfare fund concerned of the VDF, he added.
The release also shared pain and grief of the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers' Union extended aid to the injured bullet tanker driver Md Kumar (Gafar), who is undergoing treatment after an accident that took place in Dimapur, Nagaland.
A team of the union led by its general secretary Maimom Anil Meitei went to the residence of Gafar at Kairang and handed over monetary aid.
Moreover, the team went to the residence of driver (LPG Dala Body) Wangkhem Tomba, who is also undergoing treatment following a BP stroke, at Maharani Maning Leikai.
The cash benefits of monthly pension scheme of the union was also made available to him.
