Man held with WY tablets, Ice Meth

Imphal, March 15 2022:
A team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) arrested an individual along with 3 lakh pieces of WY tablets and 1 kg of Ice Meth during an impromptu frisking operation conducted near Yumsha Chicken Centre, Keishamthong on Tuesday.
The arrested person has been identified as Maibam Deban (53) son of late Maibam Mitlu of Langthabal Kunja Makha Leikai.
According to a statement of police PRO, the NAB team intercepted a truck (NL01AD 3983) around 12.30 pm in Keishamthong area.
Upon checking, they found 30 packets of WY tablets hidden inside the rear left inner tyre, which was deliberately arranged to make it look like punctured.
The seized drugs weighed around 32 kg.
Upon questioning, Deban disclosed that he has some Ice Meth in his house and the NAB team recovered 1 kg of ice meth from his house.
NAB PS has registered a case and during investigation, it was found that Deban is a member of an inter-state illicit drug trafficking network.
NAB has also managed to extract information about the source of the drug brought by Deban and where it was being taken to.
Further investigation is going on to arrest other members of the network, the statement said.
