Imphal, February 17 2022:
While urging to submit memorandum for upgrading Imphal Art College after discussing with the departments concerned, union minister of state for education and external affairs Dr Rk Ranjan has assured of extending all possible help for development of the College.
As chief guest during the inaugural function of 8th Maharajkumar Priyabrata Singh Memorial Art Exhibition organised jointly by Arts Society Manipur and Manipur Cultural Integration Conference at Imphal Art College on Thursday, Dr Ranjan expressed confidence that the exhibition will help the young generation in understanding arts.
Many artists who passed out from Imphal Art College are well known today, he noted, while exhorting all not to look down on artist and art enthusiasts.
Though the younger generation did not witness the enchanting scenes of Manipur in 1980s, they could see it through the sketches made by the artists, he maintained, while urging the people to appreciate the roles and responsibilities of the artists.
The inaugural function was also attended by Art and Culture director L Kishorjit, Arts Society Manipur president Y Nabachandra and Manipur Cultural Integration Conference president A Brajakumar Sharma as presidium members.
