Don't believe in BJP propaganda: Ibobi

While appealing people of the state not to believe BJP's false propaganda, former chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh has said he does not believe that people will take BJP's false propaganda rightly.
BJP often claims of bringing closer relation between hills and valley people but there was no restriction in hills people going to valley and valley people to hills during the Congress regime, O Ibobi said while addressing gathering at the flag hoisting ceremony of INC candidate for Hiyanglam AC Dr Huidrom Jiten.
As the chief guest, Ibobi said BJP government did provided free gas connection but one refilled gas cylinder costs more than Rs 1,000 now against Rs 300/400 during the time of Congress government.
Prices of essential commodities too have skyrocketed during BJP government thus increasing people's suffering'; he said adding that poor people of the country are now unable to survive due to ever increasing prices of essential commodities and other products.
The present BJP government launched 'Go to Village' campaign but fails to provide benefit of the campaign to the people.
Start Up/Stand Up programme was launched during the Congress government in 2016-2017 and earmarked Rs 30 crore in budget, he said and asked if how much BJP government earmarked in the state budget for the programme being initiated to provide self-jobs to unemployed youth.
In his speech, Dr Huidrom Jiten noted that Hiyanglam and other constituencies of the state remain undeveloped as the elected representatives neglect the people after getting elected and hence people want a change now.
To bring the change, it is important to improve education sector, he said and promised to give special emphasis in education sector if elected in the upcoming election.
He also assured to fill developmental lacunae in the constituency in close coordination With the people.
The flag hoisting ceremony and public meet at Hiyanglam bazaar was also attended by MPCC president N Loken, Sugnu MLA K Ranjit, Wabagai MLA Md Fajur Rahim, Kakching AC INC candidate Ksh Kennedy, Hiyanglam BCC president Chandam Iboyaima and other leaders of tne party.
