'CM's incompetency hit state hard'

The state suffered a lot in the last five years due to the incompetency of chief minister N Biren, said deputy chief minister and NPP national vice-president Y Joykumar.
Attending the flag hoisting ceremony of NPP candidate for Sekmai assembly constituency Ayangbam Oken at latter's Sekmai Kadangban residence on Thursday, Joykumar said that CM Biren mocked Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma by calling him as 'Shillong Boy'.

Sangma is far more competent than Biren in administration.
In the last five years, BJP always tried to bring down NPP and it carried out several acts, which hurt the sentiments of NPP.
The present government is a coalition government just for namesake as BJP has been imposing its mandates while at the same time deceiving the public by presenting itself as the only party that cares for the public, he said.
Maintaining that NPP will emerge as the single largest party, the deputy chief minister said that a coalition government led by NPP will come to power in the state after March 10.Out of the 38 candidates, 34 have high potential of winning and by modest calculation, the party is confident of winning a minimum of 20 seats, he said.
He then urged the people of Sekmai AC to elect Oken while assuring to provide a special place in the government if he elected.
Ayangbam Oken said that he grew up in a poor family and he knows well the hardships faced by poor families.
His first priority after winning the election would be improving socio economic status of the people and he would also take up various initiatives to bring all round development in the constituency, he said.
