Two fatalities, 103 fresh cases reported

The state on Thursday reported 103 new positive cases of Covid-19 from 2059 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 5 per cent, over 1 per cent drop from Wednesday's 6.31 per cent.
Thursday also reported two fatalities which took the total number of toll to 2090 .
Both were unvaccinated residents from Imphal West district.
The virus has claimed lives of 181 vaccinated people of which 555 had received second doses, till date.
In the last 24 hours, 151 patients were discharged from home isolation (120), RIMS (8), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (22).The caseload came down to 2094 out of which 376 (17.96 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 252 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 101 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, three did not report any fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,451 positive cases and 88 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2983 new positive cases and 44 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 709 and 15 respectively.
According to official reports, the 103 fresh cases included 101 people (41 male & 60 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (12) and other testing centres (83) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (16), Imphal West (34), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (7), Kangpokpi (4), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhnul (6), Noney (1), Senapati (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur(6).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,239 (general population - 1,31,238 and CAPF personnel - 5,00l) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,32,055 (general population - 1,27,108 and CAPF personnel - 4,947) and number of active cases is 2094 (general population - 2047 and CAPF personnel - 47) .
The recovery rate is 96.93 per cent.
A total of 333 D-type and 135 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 6471 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 14,91,640, out of which 11,04,214 had received second doses and 52,880 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,420), Imphal East (30,250), Thoubal (10,094), Churachandpur (11,013), Kangpokpi (3107), Tamenglong (3451), Bishnupur (9763), Senapati (2461), Ukhrul (3226), Kakching (6842), Chandel (2677), Noney (1145), Tengnoupal (1185), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (698), Imphal East (502), Thoubal (187), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (202), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,906 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,494 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,02,615 tests per million population against the national average of 5,38,887 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2059 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.74 per cent.
