Kshetrigao AC candidates vow infrastructure development

The five candidates in fray for the seat of Kshetrigao AC in the assembly election talked with The People's Chronicle regarding their reason for contesting the election and their visions.
NCP candidate Punam Rani Wangkhem said that she is contesting the polls with special focus on taking up projects and welfare programmes for the women.
She also assured construction of RCC bridge to replace the existing Bailey bridge over the Iril River and strengthen embankment along the Kongba River.
Meanwhile, JD(U) candidate Wahengbam Rojit alias Bullet cited improper implementation of welfare schemes as the main reason for contesting the election and assured to fully implement welfare schemes to benefit all the targeted section of the society.
He said that he will also focus on education sector, health sector and improving the economy of the people of the constituency if he wins.
Repealing of AFSPA from the state, making the ILP system effective and upholding the emotional and territorial integrity of Manipur would be accorded top priorities, he said.
According to INC candidate Md Amin Shah, decision to re-contest the election is to propose people-oriented schemes to the government and implement them expeditiously.
While assuring development of irrigations and providing tap Water to every household if he elected, Amin Shah said he will try to generate self-employment for the youth by fully implementing National Skill Development Mission launched by UPA government in 2015.Meanwhile, NPP candidate Sheikh Noorul Hassan cited lack of development and infrastructure in the constituency as reasons for the contesting the election.
He assured of translating into action his 'Vision Kshetrigao' and 'Youth policy' on in time bound manner if he wins the election.
He also declared to give up electoral politics if unable to keep his promises.
While pointing out that unemployment and hiking prices of essential items are state issues that need solution on priority basis, he said that he will focus on generating extra revenues by taking up pilot projects in select areas to lessen hardships besetting the people.
The candidate further stressed on increasing human index as a whole.
On the other hand, BJP candidate Nahakpam Indrajit Singh said that he is contesting the election to complete the remaining projects that were left in the last five years of governance.
Stating that he will give priority to education sector, Indrajit shared his vision to save the youth from addictive substances and increase quality of living.
