Union demands pension benefit to MSPCL, MSPDCL employees

Pointing out that work-charged and muster roll employees of MSPCL and MSPDCL are deprived of the facilities including pensionary benefits given to other employees, Pensioners' Union of MSPCL and MSPDCL has demanded coverage of the pension scheme to work charge and muster roll pensioners as well.
Speaking to media persons at MEEU conference hall, Keishampat here on Friday, Union general secretary L Rajen informed that muster roll employees of the then Electricity department had been working for 15/16 years and as work charged for 26/27 years.
Before receiving the pension benefit some of the employees succumbed or sustained injuries due to electric shock while working for the people.
All the responsibility should be borne by MD of both the corporations, he maintained.
Recalling that MSPCL and MSPDCL issued termination order of its employees on December 24, 2021 and January 6, 2022 respectively, Rajen said that the employees are yet to get pensionary benefits till now regardless of the principal Secretary assuring pension benefits.
He cautioned of launching extreme form of protests from August 26 if the authorities do not deposit the pension amount into their respective bank accounts within August 25 .
