Sanajaoba's works can give insights to myriad issues: Lokendra

It is time today's youths and students remember the teachings and contributions of Oja Naorem Sanajaoba, said former Director of AVRC (now EMMRC), Manipur University Dr Arambam Lokendra.
He made the statement while addressing a gathering at the 13th death anniversary of Oja Sanajaoba, organised at the Oja Sanajaoba Memorial Complex at Lairik-yengbam Makha Leikai today.
Floral tributes were paid to late Oja Sanajaoba at the event organised by OSMT (Oja Sanajaoba Memorial Trust) .
At the event, Dr Aram-bam Lokendra said students can gain vast knowledge by reading the books of Oja Sanajaoba.
From reading the books, they can gain insights to many of the issues the society is facing today.

It is also time for experts and scholars to review the books written by Oja Sanajaoba and compare the views and visions he had with the prevailing social, political and economic conditions, he said.
OSMT managing trustee S Bhubon said Oja Naorem Sanajaoba was not only a Professor of the Law Department of Guwahati University, but was also a founding member of the department.
He dedicated his life for the cause of Manipur and his academic contributions are vast.
He also worked towards fostering good relationships between the hill people and the valley people.
Oja Naorem Sanajaoba wrote more than 30 books and he had published more than 300 keynotes on National and international issues, presenting solutions to many crises.
He also published volumes of books relating to social, political status and history of Manipur.
Following his footsteps and principles would bring peace and love among the different communities of Manipur, S Bhubon said.
His birth anniversary falls on December 30.On this day, an academic discourse on themes related to demographic history will be held, he said, appealing to all the people to join and witness the discourse.
Manipur University, Department of Political Science retired Professor Dr K Ibo, GP Women's College, Department of Political Science Head Khullakpam Abdul Hakim Shah, Kuki Inpi Manipur president Ch Ajang Khongsai, Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup vice president S Memcha and Zeliangrong Art and Culture Organisation (AZACO) Manipur president Poudongai Kamson attended the event as presidium members.
