SSB raising day, training centre anniversary celebrated

Thoubal, December 13 2022:
Ex-SSB Personnel Welfare Association, Imphal (All Manipur SSB Pensioners' Welfare Association) and Thokchom Youth Dynamic Association (TYDA) jointly organised the 59th Raising Day celebration of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) along with the 57th anniversary of the state's first SSB Company training centre located at Thokchom village of Thoubal district at Thokchom Playground on Tuesday.
Heirok MLA Th Rad-heshyam, All Manipur SSB Pensioners' Welfare Association president H Tombi, secretary K Surjakumar, advisor Ng Surchandra, Association's Thoubal unit secretary O Ibotomba, Thoubal ZP up-adhyaksha Takhellambam Nungshi, Charangpat ZP member Pheiroijam Heramani and Lourembam GP pradhan nominee Khoirom Sanakhomba attended the event as members of the dais.
The chief guest hoisted the tricolour in front of the SSB memorial pillar at Thokchom village and led the participants in offering floral tributes to the pillar.
TYDA members presented several cultural shows as part of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Radheshyam assured of taking lead role in developing the historic place where the first SSB training centre of the state was established.
He urged the ex-personnel to guide the youth and motivate them to become part of the nation building process and to be part of the solution to various social issues, drug issue and crimes.
In his address, H Tombi spoke on the history of SSB and how the agency became an important tool for national integration following 1962 Indo-China war, especially in the border region.
He also recounted activities of the association.
