AISU celebrates golden jubilee

The golden jubilee celebration of the All Inpui Students' Union marking 50 years since its inception was kickstarted today at Haochong Sub Division HQ, Noney district under the theme "Recollect, Reconnect & Reorient" .
The program began with the hoisting of the Jubilee Flag by Akhown Khumba, first president of AISU.
Other dignitaries present at the inaugural ceremony include Janghemlung Panmei, MLA 53-Tamenglong AC, Chinlunthang, MLA 60-Singhat (ST) AC and Letzamang Haokip, MLA 57- Henglep (ST) AC who graced the occasion as presidium members.
Chief guest Janghemlung Panmei unveiled the monolith of AISU golden jubilee at the memorial heritage site of Haochong village.

This was followed by the lighting of jubilee torch and releasing of souvenirs by the chief guest and dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Janghemlung Panmei expressed his regards and best wishes to the Inpui Community especially Inpui Students' Union for inviting him and his colleagues on the auspicious occasion.
He said that in order to uplift the society every person must have an important role and responsibility.
The guests of honour also expressed their appreciation for the rich culture, traditions and good hospitality of the Inpui tribe.
