Merchandised company accused of not paying dues

Sapam Borish, who won Best Scriptwriter award in the Short Film Competi tion organised by a company named 'Merchandised 94' in connection with Loktak Day 2022 festival on October 7 to 9, has alleged that the company has not paid the prize money of the Competition to the winners till now.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club, here, on Sunday, S Borish claimed that Merchandised 94 has not paid any money after distribution of certificate and dummy cheque on the closing day of the event on October 9.In connection with Loktak Day 2022 festival, short film, photography and spot painting competitions were conducted and nine winners provided dummy cheques and citations signed by Merchandised 94 managing director Heisnam Shivananda alias Jackson, former minister H Sanayaima and Loktak Development Authority chairman M Asnikumar, he stated.
Borish continued that the organiser assured that the dummy cheques will be updated by October 20 but now they cannot be contacted.
He appealed to authorities concerned to take action against the fraud company for duping the competitors and pull up MD H Shivananda.
On the other hand, one of the people outsourced by Merchandised 94 for the event, Kh Telish also alleged that the company made them work for three to four months, but now it is not giving any payment for the task performed.
He also appealed to the artistes/artists who participated in the competitions not to misunderstand the people who were outsourced by the company.
Telish also revealed that they have been trying to meet Shivananda alias Jackson at his Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Kelj Makhong residence, but so far, he could not be contacted with his family members contending that people outsourced for the competition should be held accountable.
Telish further demanded that authority concerned to apprehend H Shivananda and make him pay the dues of the artistes/artists and outsourced workers.
