Gaikhangam attends AICC Steering Committee meet

Former deputy chief minister Gaikhangam attended the first Steering Committee meeting of Congress party held after the election of Mallikarjun Kharge as AICC president.
Sunday's meet decided to convene 85th plenary session of the party in February, 2023 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
AICC had abolished its highest decision-making body Congress Working Committee (CWC) and replaced it with Steering Committee with Gaikhangam appointed as a member recently.
Former AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bhagel, Congress leaders P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, Meira Kumar, Ambika Soni and other senior leaders of the party attended the first ever Steering Committee meeting, which discussed about strengthening the party.
As per information available from New Delhi, the Sunday's Steering Committee meeting discussed about the forthcoming plenary meeting and the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra and later fixed time and place for the plenary session.
The meeting considered the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra being joined by lakhs of people a huge success as it provides a platform for people to share their thoughts with the party and solution thereof.
The meeting also decided to launch people's campaign entitled 'Hath Se Hath Jodo' from January 26, 2023 and it will be conducted in all the Gram Panchayats and polling booths across the country.
