Medical camp held at Khongsang village under MACP

Tamenglong Battalion of 22 Sector under Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised a free medical camp under Military Civic Action Programme (MACP) at Khongsang village of Noney district on Sunday.
According to a release issued by PRO (Defence), the battalion's medical staff along with staffers from District Hospital, Tamenglong, carrying essential medicines treated elders, needy and underprivileged locals from nearby villages.
The beneficiaries were treated for various ailments and given medicines free of cost.
The team consisted of four doctors including two doctors from District Hospital, Tamenglong.
The medical team also had a lady doctor, who took care of gynaecology cases.
The doctors specialised in varied subjects like orthopaedic, gyanecology and medicine attended to patients for different ailments.
Commandant of 44 Assam Rifles thanked the doctors from the District Hospital for being part of the initiative of the battalion and assured all possible help to the locals towards ensuring the wellbeing of people.
During the camp, ap proximately 185 civilians including 42 women and 35 children were attended by the doctors.
Till date, the battalion has organised 56 health and wellness camps in Tamenglong and Noney districts in the current year reaching out to masses in the far flung villages where the locals are suffering due to lack of better medical facilities, the release added.
