Imphal, December 04 2022:
Winner of the Loktak Day Short Film Script Writer has appealed to the concerned organiser of the Loktak Day Festival 2022 and management team of events to clear their alleged outstanding amount at the earliest.
The appeal was made by Sapam Borish during a press conference held at Manipur Press Club this afternoon claiming that the concerned authorities have failed to provide the promised amount to the winners of the Short Film, Photography and On the Spot Painting Competition events held during the Loktak Day Festival 2022 .
He accused Shibanand, Managing Director of managing team (M94Events) of going into hiding after the event, further claiming that they were not able to contact him after receiving assurance for clearance of their winning amount.
The prize distribution of the events was held on October 9 and certificates signed by MD, M94Events, Shibananda, former Minister H Sanayaima and LDA Chairman M Asnikumar along with dummy cheques were presented to the winners on stage, he alleged.
Afterwards, the managing team ensured that updates on clearance of the dummy checks will be given to every winning individual, Sapam Borish claimed.
He further alleged that on 11 October an unofficial message was received by the event winner that the dummy cheque will clear after 20 October but the managing team failed to provide any update and all their mobile communication were shut off.
As such, he appealed to the concerned authority to look into the matter as such incidents have lowered the morale of artists.
Lastly, he appealed for a clearance of their outstanding dues at the earliest and for appropriate action to be initiated against the managing team.
