Kangpokpi, November 04 2021:
Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen inaugurated a new restaurant christened "The Oasis' at Ngamkon Inn, IT Road, Ward No 8 at Kangpokpi town on Thursday.
The local MLA attended the inauguration function as chief guest while Pastor Khuptinlal Hangshing attended the event as the dedication minister.
In her speech, Nemcha Kipgen strongly advocated cooperative business especially among the youth of the district and highlighted how cooperative has become a successful economic model in Germany and around the world.
While appreciating The Oasis team especially the founder, the MLA continued that such cooperative movement not only contributes significantly to the development of the society but also brings a sense of brotherhood and a tendency to work together while a sense of real democracy is imparted among the people.
The MLA exhorted the youth to take advantage of the Startup Manipur Mission as the government is committed to creating a startup ecosystem in the state by providing the right resources and platforms.
MLA Nemcha further motivated the civil society organisation leaders, parents and guardians, boys, and girls attending the function to encourage the idea of cooperative movement in the town like in Germany and let it be part of the intangible cultural heritage.
She also encouraged the founder of the restaurant to develop and turn The Oasis restaurant into a five-star hotel in the coming years.
The owner and founder of the restaurant, Kimdeilhing Kipgen, who earlier worked as a service staff in a prestigious Celebrity Solstice Cruiseliner, decided to leave her high profile job to start a restaurant so as to be a role model among youth to take up their own business through cooperative movement.
Continental Italian and Chinese pastries and freshly baked products and mock-tails are some of the main menus among many others offered by the newly opened restaurant.
