Convergence Day held in Bpr, Ccpur districts

Bishnupur: National Health Mission (NHM), Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) Cell and District Family Welfare Bureau (DFWB) on Wednesday jointly organised Convergence Day (Routine Immunisation, Other NHM & ICDS Activities) for children and pregnant women at eight different locations of the district.
The programmes held at Kabowakching, Irengbam and Naorem under Nambol block; Nachou under Bishnupur block; and Saiton, Phougakchao Ikhai and Kwakta under Moirang block with support from respective PHCs, anganwadi workers and helpers were marked by vaccination of children and pregnant women.
Churachandpur: Social Welfare Department and Department of Health and Family Welfare launched Convergence Day at different places in Churachandpur on Wednesday with the aim to vaccinate children who haven't got even a single vaccine (Left Outs) and those children who have received few vaccines but didn't complete (Drop outs).
Launching the event as chief guest at Zen-hang Lamka, additional deputy commissioner Khaikhopau Ngaihte stated that vaccines are one of the most effective, affordable and safest methods to protect infants and children from diseases and mortality.
Officials from district administration, Social Welfare and Health and Family Welfare departments, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers attended the programme.
It is said that 'Convergence Day' will be held every Wednesday at select Anganwadi Centres to vaccinate all children up to 5, 10 and 16 years of age.
