Many condole demise of former Minister RV Mingthing

Many organisations of the State have conveyed their deepest condolences upon the passing of former Minister RV Mingthing on the night of March 27 .
In a statement, the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) called the late political leader a well-wisher of the student body who also offered moral support to the organisation.
The demise of the noted social activist will leave behind a large void, United Committee Manipur (UCM) said in a statement.
UCM recalled that RV Mingthing stood for hill-valley unity and was the leader of many CSOs, on top of being a Legislative Assembly Minister.
The Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee of Manipur (STDCM) laid out RV Mingthing's activities relating to the Committee by saying that the deceased former Minister was the chief guest at the International Day of World's Indigenous People celebration organised by the STDCM on August 9, 2014.The statement further claimed that the former Minister was also a supporter of the demand for inclusion of Meeteis in the ST list.
Condoling his passing, the Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur highlighted his valuable contribution to Manipuri society in a statement.
It said that after his retirement from politics, the social activist joined many CSOs and poured his efforts into uniting the hill and valley communities.
He was a firm believer in the fraternal bond between the two.
Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) also condoled the demise of RV Mingthing who reportedly held the Sanamahi faith in high regard.
Members of United Peoples' Front (UPF), Manipur, NIPCO, CADA, MAPI Council, AMPFA, AMKIL, Nupi Samaj, Tami-Chingmi, Eechal, Thoubal Ima, UPACO, NIMPAL, NLANL, ANUL and Senior Citizens for Society, Manipur observed a two-minute silence to mourn the late UNC founder member at the head office of UPF at Keishamthong Nambul Mapan.
The gathering also prayed for the deceased's soul to rest in peace while sharing in the grief of the bereaved family.
All the other aforementioned organizations, namely, DESAM, UCM, STDCM, FOCS and LSTB also offered prayers to the Almighty for the late political personality to rest in eternal peace and extended their sympathy to the grief-stricken family of RV Mingthing.
