Web portal of MNC launched

Health & IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh on Tuesday launched official web portal of Manipur Nursing Council in a function held at Classic Hotel, North AOC, Imphal.
Speaking as chief guest, Dr Ranjan expressed that the web portal will be a boon for those who are in the nursing profession as nursing students can now register themselves with the click of a mouse.
It is a great opportunity for the medical department, he added.
Referring to the 2021 report, the minister informed that India had produced 1,92,679 ANM nurses, 1,33,299 GNM nurses and 17,141 post graduate nurses every year, but the figures have dropped.
He further informed that there are demands for Manipuri nurses abroad, adding that the nurses from the state get employed across the country and also in foreign countries.
The minister then urged the nursing community to serve patients with commitment and dedication.
At the same time, he commended the nurses for their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, AYUSH, Imphal director Dr Ak Lokendro Singh, NHM Manipur director Dr Somorjit Ningombam, and Manipur Nursing Council registrar Dr Aribam Jamuna Devi were president and guests of honour respectively of the launch function which was also attended by officials and staff of Manipur Nursing Council, doctors and others.
