Imphal, October 09 2021:
Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo has urged the people of the state not to be fooled by the honeyed words of candidates, whose faces were not seen when people faced immense hardships due to the Covid-19 pandemic but are popping up everywhere as the election nears, adding that it would be a huge loss to the constituency if such candidates were to be elected.
Speaking at the inaugural function of a community hall constructed under the MLA LADF at Jail Compound, on Saturday, MLA Imo said that many candidates, who have never shown their faces or assisted those in peril during the pandemic, are suddenly coming out to contest the election and trying to sway the people.
If the people were to elect such candidates, not only would it be detrimental for the constituency, but for the entire state as well.
Thus, we should elect someone who' is sincere and would be able to lead the future generations well, he said, while stating that he would ensure the welfare of the constituency as long as he is its representative.
The MLA then said that he has been working hard to deliver government schemes and funds to the people of the constituency over the last 9 years.
As such, Sagolband AC is among the top 3-4 progressive constituencies.
Additionally, he has been working as chairman of the Covid Management Committee to help combat the pandemic including setting up quarantine centres, testing, vaccination, etc.
He also has been ensuring no issues regarding distribution of NGFA and PMGKY rice occur in the constituency, which has been witnessed overtime.

As such, women wing of SCPC, with around 6000 members, has been established to bridge the communication gap.
The number of members is gradually rising indicating the increasing trust of the people: Recently, the Youth Wing was also launched.
Meanwhile, efforts are being taken up to provide pension to widows above 55 years of age and also to impoverished families, he conveyed.
