State boxing: NBA boxers crowned champions

Nongada Boxing Academy (NBA) boxers emerged team champions of the 2nd Manipur State Invitation Boxing Championships for junior and sub-junior boys and girls on Saturday.
NBA ended their campaign with 11 gold medals to secure the championship title while Mary Kom Boxing Academy (MKBA) finished runners-up with their six gold medal haul.
The top finishers of NBA were Yengkhom Loveson Singh (sub-jr boys 31kg), Irom Kangleiwang (sub-jr boys 43kg), Ahanthem Tulasbol Singh (jr boys 66kg), Khumanthem Sinthoi Devi (sub-jr girls 52kg), Shagolsem Rockey Meitei (jr boys 50kg), Tonambam Chingkheinganba (sub-jr boys 35kg), Thounaojam Anjalina Devi (sub-jr girls 43kg), Ningthoujam Naocha Singh (sub-jr boys 40kg), Laishram Mangansana Singh (sub-jr boys 55kg), Laishram Jayalaxmi Devi (sub jr girls 40kg) and Lairenlakpam Ambekar Meetei (sub-jr boys 37kg).MKBA, on the other hand, won their gold medals courtesy of Punshiba Moirangthem Singh (sub-jr boys 61kg), Rengneivar Serto Kom (sub-jr boys 64kg), Irungbam Malemnganba Singh (jr boys 52kg), Meekness Kh'aidem Meitei (sub-jr boys 52kg), Amarjit Takhellambam Singh (jr boys 48kg) and Sne-ha Thangjam Chanu (sub-jr girls 46kg).MKBA's Amarjit Takkhellambam was adjudged the best boxer while Huidrom Lanthoi Mangang of Thangmeiband Boxing Academy (TBA) was named 'best looser' in the boys' category.
In the girls' event, Moirangthem Luxmi Devi of Athletic Union Sugnu (AUS) earned the best box er award as Thokchorti Tanu of Inter Village Road Boxing School Ngaikhong Khullen (IVRBS) was named 'best looser'.
Also, NBA's Lairenlakpam Ambekar Meetei was given the most promising boxer title in the boys' category as, MKBA's Sneha Thangjam Chanu received the girls' title.
