Peace in Manipur under BJP Govt: Biren

Chief minister N Biren has asserted that peace has returned to Manipur and people of the state could live without any fear now after the BJP-led governments both at the Centre and in the state.
Addressing a public meeting at SAI ground, Utlou under Nambol assembly constituency on Saturday, Biren said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled the demand of the people of Manipur for protecting identity of indigenous people of the state by implementing the ILP system.
Before the BJP-led government came to power, only around 4.7 percent of the population of Manipur had access to clean drinking water but now 52 percent of the population is enjoy life's basic need and this could even reach up to 80 per cent before the upcoming state assembly election.
The public meeting organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh was also attended by BJP national president JP Nadda, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi, Union minister and party's electron in-charge for Manipur Bhupender Yadav, Union minister Dr RK Ranjan Singh, Union minister Pratima Bhoumik and MP Leishemba Sanajaoba.
The meeting was also attended by Assam minister and election co-in-charge for Manipur MP Ashok Singhal, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, general secretary (Org) North East Ajay Jamwal, general secretary (Org) Manipur & Nagaland in-charge Abhay Kumar Giri, former Union minister Th Chaoba Singh and BJP Bish-nupur District Committee president RK Bimola Devi and Nambol Mandal president S Brajamani Singh.
