No death reported, 147 new cases detected

Imphal, October 09 2021:
After reporting six fatalities on Friday, the state on Saturday had no new death case while 147 new positive cases were detected out of 2229 samples tested and registered a positivity rate of 6.59 per cent against Friday's 5.29 per cent.
The active caseload rose to 1716 out of which 235 (13.69 per cent) are in home isolation, 573 (33.39 per cent) at CHICs, 558 (32.52 per cent) at CCCs and 350 (20.40 per cent) in hospitals Among the hospitalised patients, 65 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 76 are on oxygen support and 26 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 166 patients.
On the other hand, there are seven patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Saturday evening, 536 beds including 105 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities but as of Friday evening 2814 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 412 beds (29 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the stale has recorded 92,453 positive cases and 1508 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 974 new cases and 22 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
The current month recorded 1269 new cases and 27 fatalities.
According to official reports, the 147 new positive cases included 145 people (69 male & 76 female) from among the general population and two personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were detected at RIMS (l), JNIMS (17) and other testing centres (129).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (32), Imphal West (77), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (3), Chandel (5), Senapati (2), Kangpokpi (1), Pherzawl (1) and Kamjong (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 114 patients were discharged from home isolation (30), RIMS (4), JNIMS (2), CCCs (76) and CHICs (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,21,853 (general population - 1,17,550 and CAPF personnel - 4,303) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,18,255 (general population - 1,13,978 and CAPF personnel - 4,277) and number of active cases is 1,716 (general population - 1,695 and CAPF personnel - 21) .
The recovery rate is 97.05 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 791 D-type and 153 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
As many as 11,073 vaccine doses were administered on Friday and the number of vaccinated people has risen to 12,30,350 which included 5,34,577 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,221), Imphal East (26,943), Thoubal (9375), Churachandpur (10,079), Kangpokpi (2766), Tamenglong (3269), Bishnupur (9065), Senapati (2213), Ukhrul (2812), Kakching (6359), Chandel (2302), Noney (1064), Tenenoupal (1047), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (871) and Pherzawl (447).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (628), Imphal East (444), Thoubal (171), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (188), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (36), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,269 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,299 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,26,382 tests per million population against the national average of 4,15,167 TPM.
Case fatality rate came down to 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2229 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.59 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.21 per cent.
