Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Legal awareness, cycle rally held

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Pan India awareness and Outreach Campaign, Manipur Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) in association with District Legal Services Authority Thoubal and under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), organised a legal awareness & outreach programme through a cycle rally led by Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary MASLSA.
The awareness drive through cycle rally started with a legal awareness programme at Kangla Gate, Imphal West.
The campaign covered 2 districts- Imphal West and Thoubal, reaching out to more than 70 villages.
Pamphlets, posters containing information about contact details of Legal Services Institution and availability of free legal services were distributed to the public.

Further, the cycling team was also flagged off at Khongjom by Justice Kh Nobin Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur & Executive Chairman MASLSA in the presence of Binny Ngangom, Chairperson, DLSA Thoubal; Athokpam Shanta Dev, secretary DLSA Thoubal; S Sadananda, deputy member secretary MASLSA.
Later, Justice Kh Nobin also led a tree plantation programme at Thoubal Court Complex.
Besides, DLSA Thoubal also organised an online legal awareness programme/Webinar on "ADR Mechanism and their benefits; how to settle disputes in a cost effective and time bound manner" through the Jitsi Meet platform.
It was participated by Kh Lembisana Meidingu, Remand Lawyer; Binny Ngangom, Chairperson, DLSA, Thoubal and W Amusana Devi, Co-ordinator, Legal Aid Clinic, Hiyanglam.
Ch Momon Singh, Panel Lawyer, MASLSA also took part in the programme as resource person.
CHANDEL
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, DLSA Chandel under the aegis of NALSA also organised a one day legal awareness programme on the topic "Legal rights of children"- especially for Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) and Children in Conflict with Law (CCL).
It was attended by staff of District Childline Services, Children Homes in Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts, leaders of village authorities, members of All Tribal Women Organisation and local clubs.
During the programme, NS Lily, Coordinator, Legal Aid Clinic Nungourok gave the welcome address while Moikham Ronglo, secretary, All Tribal Women Organisation presented the vote of thanks.
CHURACHANDPUR
DLSA Churachandpur, CCpur Bn Assam Rifles and Eimi Riders Manipur under the aegis of NALSA also organised a bike rally on 'Ride for equality' as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.
The rally was participated by about 31 riders covering a distance of 150 Km and passing through 30 villages.
Moreover, a special session was also held as part of the programme wherein Janggoulen Haokip, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, DLSA CCpur delivered the welcome address followed by speeches from Col Vikas Saha SM, Commandant 25 AR CCpur and N Keertichand Singh.
Pamphlets on Section-12 in five different tribal languages were also handed over to president, Eimi Riders to be distributed to the villages covered from Court Complex CCpur to Thanlon.
