Imphal, June 27 2021:
Raising strong objection to harsh criticism on Sanamahi religion while expressing views on the recent removal of rods from the mouth of the mythical Kanglashas in front of Kangla Utra Shanglen, International Sanamahism Students' Association (ISSA) has urged all to refrain from feasting on the issue to criticise Sanamahi religion.
In a statement, ISSA said that most of the views expressed over the recent act seem to be centred around the removal of the support rods from the mouth of the two Kanglashas but nobody seems to care about discussing its history.
ISSA believes that the government must have discussed with religious scholars before taking the decision.
The government involved Sana Konung, Utra Shanglen and Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board for conducting the religious ritual before removing the support rods.
Unfortunately, some scholars are criticising these institutions stating that they have no reason to get involved in the matter related with Kangla.
LSBT is an institution of Sanamahi religion where a believer consults, discusses, files complaint and learns about religious matters.
On the other hand, Sana Konung and Utra Shanglen are the customary heads of Sanamahi religion and culture of the state and they have been performing key annual rituals.
It is unfortunate for those scholars to claim that these religious institutions are not related with Kangla, the statement said while urging them to refrain from making such impulsive statements in future.
