FAB organises cultural community event for peace building

Friends Across Barriers (FAB), MANEDA, Senapati on Saturday organised a one-day cultural community event for peace building at Multi Purpose Hall, Senapati.
In his welcome note, T Peter Rangnamei, secretary MANEDA, stated that the event was organised to bring together the different villages working under FAB including the village authorities, women and youth leaders.
He expressed hope of bringing better relationship between communities through the peace-building event.
Highlighting the project, Meveine Kazia Sousho, project coordinator FAB, said FAB is operating in 3 districts of Manipur including Chandel and Noney, explaining further that it works together with 16 different villages in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts comprising different tribes.
The project hopes to contribute to strengthening social cohesion for individuals, children and youth.
The cultural community event for peace building is being organised to celebrate the different cultures and ethnicity in the society with the different tribes in the region.
It is a platform to learn about one another's culture, and celebrating and re-learning their different practices.
The objective of the event is to promote friendship among different tribes in the two districts.
FAB also seeks to understand the differences and similarities to understand the importance of social connection so as to enable to develop and nurture the relationship and enhance a sense of belonging and pur pose, Meveine added.
Special song from Hope Home, MANEDA, folk fusion from T/Khullen, folk song from Taphou Ngaihang, cultural dance from M/Ningthoupham, folk fusion from Adane Ozhou, folk fusion from Marini, folk song from Kathikho Karong and instrumental piece from Gabriel Pao were the highlights of the event.
