Gin Gangte conferred Doctorate Degree

The Academy of Universal Global Peace, Chennai has conferred the Degree of Doctor of Humanity to Gin Gangte in recognition of his long social commitment and public service.
Born to Khamzathang Gangte, WW-II soldier & Chief of Bunglon Village, Churachandpur District, Gin Gangte has been for long associated with various social and humanitarian causes.
He played a major role for promotion of education amongst the rural populace, computer literacy, peace, farmers' empowerment, etc.
In his efforts towards achieving his social objective, Gin Gangte invited Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India to Bunglon High School on 16th October, 2006 .
The 'Great October' visitation of the then President has resulted in black-topping of 5km-long Moirang to Bunglon road - the long cherish dreams of the rural people, construction of helipad, setting up of computer centre at Bunglon High School, installation of new electricity transformer, etc.
A post-graduate in Political Science from Delhi University with Bachelor of Mass Communication degree from Guru Jambheswhar University, Hisar, Gin Gangte was one of the key player in organizing the first ever Kut Festival in the soil of India's Capital City on November 1, 1997 in his capacity as Secretary, Delhi State Level Kut Committee.
Gin Gangte is a cadre of Indian Information Service and is presently posted as Field Exhibition Officer, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal.
