Pesticides detected in Kakching Hawaijar incident

In connection with the hospitalisation of 115 people of Kakching area after having fermented soyabean (Hawaijar) on November 5, 2011, the blood samples which have been sent to Kolkata by State Health Department were found containing E-Coli and pesticides.
In a simple occasion held today at the Directorate of Health Department with business holders of fermented soyabean and club members of Kakching area, State epidemiologist Dr Ritendra Mohan, Additional Director Dr Surchandra and CMO Thoubal Dr Radheshyam informed that the State Health Department referred seven blood samples to the Mita SK Private Limited of kolkata for further testing and it was reported that the samples were found containing EColi and pesticide.
