Imphal, January 05 2012:
Even as MPCC president Gaikhangam and Chief Minister O Ibobi who went to New Delhi to finalise the list of Congress candidates with AICC leaders have come back, the list of Congress candidates could not be announced officially till date because of difference of opinion between the two Congress leaders.
Meanwhile, around 300 supporters of ex-MLA Radhakishore who is preparing to contest the polls under Congress ticket in Oinam AC stormed Congress Bhavan today alleging that the MPCC leaders were partial in issuing party ticket.
Sonia Gandhi, O Ibobi, Gaikhangam and members of AICC ticket committee held a meeting at Delhi yesterday and deliberated on finalising the list of candidates who would contest in the coming election.
According to a prominent leader of MPCC, Ibobi and Gaikhangam came back with Form A and B for filing nomination papers in place of the final list of candidates.
The final list is being awaited as AICC leaders assured to send the same in the form of fax message.

However, according to information received here, Congress is unable to declare the final list because of sharp difference between Gaikhangam and Ibobi regarding some Assembly segments though AICC is broadly agreed in allotting party tickets to majority of the sitting MLAs.
Efforts by media persons to get a clear picture of the situation inside MPCC proved futile as security forces prevented them from entering Congress Bhavan.
On the other hand, around 300 supporters of Radhakishore raised a furore in front of Congress Bhavan alleging that the MPCC leaders were discriminatory in issuing party tickets.
As they were driven away by security forces, they threw party flags into Congress Bhavan and went away after declaring that they would quit Congress party.
Speaking to newspersons at Manipur Press Club later in the day, Oinam Youth Congress Committee president Laitonjam Ibomcha Singh said an emergency meeting of the Committee was convened at around 9 am today during which Committee members present approved dissolution of the Committee with immediate effect.
The meeting also decided to hand-over Committee membership cards, office documents and bank pass-books to authorities of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee to protest denial of Congress ticket to Laishram Radhakishore.
