Training on organic farming begins, 'BP' management ends

A five-day training programme on 'Organic Farming of Vegetable Crops' organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal under the sponsorship of Department of Horticulture And Soil Conservation, MOMA began at its training hall from Friday.
The inaugural function of the training was attended by Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation MOMA additional & project director K Debadutta Sharma, Rice Research Station, Wangbal rice breeder N Kumar, KVK Thoubal senior scientist & head Dr S Zeshmarani Devi and KVK, Thoubal Agronomy subject matter specialist N Tomba as presidium members.
During the training, experts from KVK Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Tamenglong, South Garo Hills; Northeast India OneCert International Private Limited DGM and Department of Agriculture MOVCD project officer will impart knowledge on benefits of organic farming, construction of Nutri Garden, protection from pests and infections, organic inputs, nutrient management, scope of organic farming in Manipur, etc., to the participants.
The training programme is being attended by extension farmers of agriculture, horticulture and soil conservation of Thoubal and farmers producer organisations (FPOs) CEOs.
Meanwhile, a two-day training programme on hypertension and management organised by NCD Cell, District Health Society, Thoubal in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and World Health Organisation (WHO) at GNM School of Nursing Thoubal training hall concluded on Friday.
The closing function of the programme was attended by chief medical officer, Thoubal Dr Y Nokul Singh and state nodal officer NPCDCS Dr Y Premchandra Singh as presidium members.
During course of the training programme, ICMR NIE consultant Dr Shubhabrata Das, WHO CVHO, Andhfa Pradesh Dr CR Patel, WHO CVHO, Assam Dr Gunjan Nath and Thoubal district ICMR NIE's Ak Sonam Devi shared knowledge on different topics like hypertension diagnosis and treatment protocol, opportunistic screening and task sharing, supply chain management, Portal and IT App, documentation and reporting, etc., through PowerPoint presentation, group discussion, interaction session, role play, etc.
Altogether, 120 medical officers, community health officers, SNs, ANMs and pharmacists participated in the training programme.
