Imphal, September 16 2022:
Chief Minister N Biren on Thursday released two books, titled, 'Pannavery' (anthology of poems) and 'The Wailing Angels' (novel) penned by Kuki writer Nengthenkim, at the CM Secretariat, here.
Speaking on the occasion, CM N Biren observed that the division among different communities settling in state is due to one community indulging in politics with only its interests in mind.
To prevent this, people with strong sense of unity and positive minds are much needed in the state, he said.
The chief minister then urged the people of the state to uphold Manipur's territorial integrity while keeping aside ethnic differences.
The emergence of narrow-minded people with only their self-interests in heart and lacking intelligence despite being highly educated, are the reasons behind the turmoil in the state.
All must understand that there is no true winner in any conflict among the communities, he remarked and urged for abandoning narrow-minded thoughts.
During the function, which was also attended by Saikul MLA Kimneo Hanshing, Intellectual Forum of North East advisor S Bhubol gave a review of the novel, 'The Wailing Angels', while YK College Assistant Prof Hoipi Haokip reviewed the anthology of poems, 'Pannavery' .
