BJP lines up events to celebrate Modi's birthday

BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary and Seva Pakhwada in-charge P Premananda said that the party is all set to organise the Seva Pakhwada fortnight from September 17 to October 2 in connection with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a press meet at the party office here on Friday, Premananda said that the initiative is to help the poor and needy instead of just celebrating the birthday of the Prime Minister by cutting cakes.
The programme will be conducted under the leadership and guidance of chief minister N Biren and the party's state president A Sharda.
On the first day of the fortnight-long service, the party will conduct blood donation camps at headquarters of the different districts.
Prior to the camp, chief minister N Biren and party president A Sharda will release a directory of blood donors in the presence of ministers and BJP MLAs at the party's office here.
Any individual requiring blood can contact anybody from the directory to get their requirement, he said.
On the next day (Sunday), the party will organise cleanliness drive in 60 mandals followed by free health check-up in remote areas of the state on September 19.The free health check-up will be attended by specialists in different fields and medicines will be provided free of cost.
On September 20, the party members will visit Covid vaccination centres and interact with healthcare professionals as well as vaccine beneficiaries.
A state level seminar will be conducted at City Convention Centre on September 21 and the party will announce adoption of TB patients for one year on the next day in line with Prime Minister's target of eradicating TB by 2025.Artificial limbs and equipment will be distributed to differently abled persons in 12 districts on September 23, and an exhibition on the life, works and missions of PM Modi will be held on September 24 while Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti will be observed in 2500 polling booths along with listening to Mann Ki Baat on September 25, he informed.
There will be mass tree plantation programme with a target of plating 50,000 saplings on September 26, intellectuals' meet in 12 districts on September 27, cleaning Amrit Sarovar water bodies on September 28 and 29, special programme on unity & diversity on September 30, providing aid materials to old aged homes, blind school and children homes on October 1, and observance of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Jayanti on October 2, he added.
