Mop-up day of the National Deworming programme was held today at various places across Bishnupur district.
Mop-up day of the programme aimed at administering deworming tablets to those children who were left out during the Deworming Day held on February 13.District Health Society Bishnupur organised the mop-up deworming programme at various Anganwadi centres and Primary Health Sub-Centres in the district.
A five member team led by District Nodal Officer of DHS Bishnupur Dr Ksh Umananda Singh inspected the various sites today.
The mop-up day at TYDA Club, Toubul was attended by Toubul GP Pradhan Thokchom Nanaobi Devi, Ward no 4 member Mutum Rani Devi and Supervisor of ICDS Bishnupur Toubul Sector.
100 children were administered Albendazole tablets during the programme at Toubul.
Mop-up day at the Primary Health Sub-centre Khoijuman was organised jointly by the Apunba Anganwadi Worker Helper, ASHA and PHSC Khoijuman.
200 children were administered deworming tablets at the centre.
Khoijuman Kwashiphai GP UP Pradhan Ngangom Tomba lauded the DHS, Anganwadi workers and helpers and ASHA workers for their effort during the programme.
In a bid to tackle the countrywide public health threat of intestinal worm infections in children and related morbidity, all states and Union territories conducted the National Deworming Day as mandated by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
