ZYF appeals Govt to release ex gratia to victims of explosion

Zeliangrong Youth Front in a statement today appealed the Government to release ex-gratia promised to the victims of the Leishok village explosion.
The explosion on January 21 at Leishok village, under Khoupum Sub-Division, killed two minors namely Sahatngam Kamei (8) s/o Late Mathiudai Kamei and Silas Kamei and injured three others namely Jaokianthulu (2) d/o Gaijaini Kamei, Gailuansui Gonmei (9) s/o Kakinthai Gonmei and K Guilianei (4) d/o Gairhipou Kamei.
K Guilianei (4) was critically injured and is currently undergoing medical treatment.
The Government during a joint meeting with the ZYF, ZB and ZSU on January 22 had agreed to extend Rs 2 lakh each to the family of the deceased children.
Rs 50,000 for the critically injured child and Rs 20,000 for children who suffered minor injuries were also promised, said the statement of the ZYF.
Family of the critically injured child (K Guilianei) is in desperate need of money to meet the costs of the medical treatment, ZYF said.
Meanwhile, the ZYF has appreciated the Government for sending bomb expert team at Soubunglong (Leishok) village.
The bomb expert team have reportedly detonated two to three unexploded bombs found at the village, said the statement of the ZYF.
