MoUs for chromite mining inked: Biswajit

Seven private companies signed an MoU with the State Government on November 22 last year for Chromite exploration and mining in the State, said Commerce and Industries Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh today, in the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The Minister was replying to a starred question raised by MLA Surjakumar Okram.
In reply to another starred question raised by MLA P Brojen Singh, Biswajit who also holds the PWD portfolio said that no specific order was issued by the State PWD specifying the permissible vehicle loads for heavy vehicles plying on different categories of road in Manipur.
Education Minister Thokchom Radhesyham said that a Government high school having classes VI to X should have 11 teachers and one Home Science teacher totaling 12 teachers.
There should be six Arts Graduate teachers, four Science Graduate Teachers and one Hindi Graduate Teacher, he said replying to a starred question raised by MLA Md Fajur Rahim.
Radheshyam who is also in charge of Labour & Employment said that the figures deleted from the live Employment Exchange Register till November, 2017 is 4,51,569 as per provision under item no 7.32(a) of the National Employment Service Manual (Vol-I), which requires mandatory renewal every three years.
He continued that prior information was given to the candidates before deregistering through electronic and print media and that the candidates removed from the employment register can re-register any time with the Employment Exchange concerned.
He said that the department also proposes to conduct special camps for facilitating such re-registration.
IPR Minister Biswajit said that 7500 copies of diaries and 17,000 copies of calendars were published this year on December 31, 2017 at 2pm.He was replying to a starred question.
There are 11 KGBVs and nine residential schools in the State and all the 11 KGBVs and eight residential schools out of the nine are functional, said Education Minister Radheshyam while replying to a starred question raised by MLA Abdul Nasir.
Responding to a query raised by Alfred Kanngam Arthur on the status of all Stage I, PMGSY roads in the State, RD&PR Minister Th Biswajit said that the number of Stage-I works sanctioned in phase-XI(I) is 37 which are under e-tender process and the total number of balance Stage-I works as on February 17 this year is 92 .
