Imphal, February 13, 2013:
All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM), which has threatened to impose an Indefinite Economic Blockade from February 16, turned its accusing finger towards the Consumer Clubs of the State for not controlling the man-made inflation even before the agitation begins.
Marahang Ngiimai, ATSUM General Secretary, while appealing to the business community not to take advantage of the proposed indefinite economic blockade, said that ATSUM understands that the public irrespective of Valley and Hills will be affected immensely but we have no other suitable and appropriate option as the Government has never shown any interest towards addressing the long pending issues even after giving them enough time and opportunity.
At the same time, Marahang has questioned "Why the consumer clubs are not controlling the man made inflation even before the proposed blockade begins specially Oil Pumps/Stations?" This trend usually practiced by the business community whenever any bandh and blockade are due is condemnable and need to be checked by all concerned in the interest of the general public.
