The Centre for Research and Advocay Manipur (CRAM) condemned the series of racial attacks and discriminations against the youth and women of the North East in New Delhi.
Despite repeated attacks in the past, the Goverment of India has failed to protect the North Eastern people, according to Jiten Yumnam, Secy, CRAM.
Stating the failure to safeguard the citizens from being discriminated by the Government of India, he said people from the North East are unsafe in major cities in India and its lack of protection and safety after several incidents had occured in the past is highly condemnable.
CRAM urged the Government of India to take up any possible measures to end all forms of discrimination and racial attacks.
It also urged the State Government to prosecute the IRB personnel who assualted a journalist, Aribam Chaoba, and to take up measures to protect the rights of every citizen.
