Imphal, February 13, 2013:
The tripartite agreement signed between three valley based UG outfits, the State Government and the Government of India has completed one year.
During this one year, leaders and cadres of the outfits experienced many trials and tribulations, said a joint press release issued by KCP-MC's Taiban-ganganba, KYKL-MDF's Athouba and URF's Lanheiba Meitei.
Saying that police officers have been looking upon their cadres with a parochial outlook, the outfits asserted that the peace process can be transformed into a success only when the Government of India treat all peace processes with respect and give due attention and importance.
Till date, the peace process is being confined to bureaucratic level, more precisely at the level of the Principal Secretary (Home) and the MHA's Joint Secretary (North East in-charge).
Acknowledging that a joint monitoring group has been constituted, the outfit underscored the importance of regular the importance of regular communication, discussion and consultation.
They further appealed to all the people of Manipur to keep faith in the peace process and support their endeavour to bring about a green revolution in Manipur and lay a strong foundation for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
