Man survives sword attack

A man reportedly survived a sword attack that occurred at Oksoi Pat under Oinam villageof Bishnupur district on March 27 last.
Oinam Tangleihada Oksoi Grazing Ground Protection Committee (OTOGGPC) has demanded the authority that all the culprits involved in the attack be brought to book.
The victim, Oinam Ratankumar, was attacked and tried to kill by a group of armed people numbering about 40 at Oksoi Pat around 11:30 pm of March 27, OTOGGPC secretary N Susildro told reporters at the Press Club here on Friday.
He claimed that the assailants who used sharp swords in the attack were from neighbouring village of Nambol Naorem.
Susildro said Ratankumar was critically injured in the attack and said, "We condemn the incident." The victim was undergoing medical treatment at Nambol PHC in serious condition, he added.
He claimed that the Nambol Police Station has refused to book all the culprits even after the committee lodged a complaint with it regarding the incident.
Susilo demanded the Nambol Police to bring all the culprits to book and punish.
