RPF mourns 'sgt' Prem's death

Proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) has deeply condoled the death of 'sergeant Prem' of 'Tactical Command' of its armed wing PLA.
Sgt Prem, real name Okram Pari, son of late O Tomba and O (Ongbi) Radhe of Sagolmang Mamang Leikai, was killed during a clash with a team of 44 Assam Rifles at a place between Kamjong and Kongkan under Ukhrul district on March 31 last, according to a statement signed by Bangkim, chief, Department of Publicity, RPF.
RPF said four AR personnel were killed and several others wounded in the attack and that Sgt Prem managed to snatch away one AK-47 rifle from the AR group.
He also seized a number of weapons from enemies in several gun battles fought with Indian Army and other security forces, the statement said.
It said, "The PLA gives revolutionary solute to sgt Prem" .
Sgt Prem joined PLA on February 20, 2007 and got basic military training of the outfit on June 5, 2007 and later received medical training the same year, RPF said.
It said sgt Prem of 251 M/Bn of PLA had fought many battles against the 'enemy' from 2008 to 2015 .
The statement said that sgt Prem wrote in his personal diary, "To sacrifice one's life is to live bravely and not really dying" .
Every condolence unit, department and station of the outfit held condolence meetings and paid homage to the departed soul of sgt Prem, the statement said and added that RPF and its armed wing PLA share the grief of his bereaved family, relatives and other loved ones.
