Imphal, April 03 2015 :
Thuingaleng Muivah, General Secretary of the NSCN(IM) in a signed statement has put the record straight on sovereignty and integration of the Naga areas.
Without naming anyone, Muivah said that "rumour mongers had blamed it for betraying the Nagas on the issues of sovereignty and integration of the contiguous Naga areas" .
These are the inherent rights of the Naga people, he asserted.
Referring to the signing of the Shillong accord the statement said that some members of the Naga National Council did so as "Naga undergrounds" .
The accord was totally against the rights and decision of the Naga people.
It was condemned as an act of complete sell out of the Naga national right.
The NSCN emerged as the forerunner for the sovereign rights of the Nagas.
However the Indian government realised that "military solution is not possible.
It is a political issue and therefore India must seek political solution".
The Nagas agreed to seek political solution to the "Indo-Naga" issue on the table.
The Indian Government also agreed with the fact that the Naga history is unique.
Muivah said the negotiations are moving forward positively.
Both parties are on the course of win-win ground although the political talk is still in the process.
We have never given up the issues of sovereignty and integration of all the Naga areas which were divided by the colonial powers without the consent of the Nagas.
The process of working out an honourable political solution acceptable to both the parties is going on.
