Imphal, April 03 2015 :
Despite all the efforts of some political parties whose political fortunes are fading fast to project Congress Government and Congress party in the wrong light, there is nothing to worry about for there is perfect synergy and coordination within Congress party, stated Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai.
Mirabai was speaking at a district level interaction programme on 'Congress ideology, organisational matters and way forward for the party' held today at Tabungkhok Awang Leikai under the aegis of Imphal West I District Congress Committee.
Block presidents and workers of Patsoi, Konthoujam, Lamsang and Sekmai Assembly segments attended the interaction programme.
Mirabai claimed that both the Congress Government and the Congress party have been working in unison in accordance with the general aspirations and pulse of the masses.
There is equitable share of development works irrespective of whether an elected representative is a Minister or an MLA.
She underscored the importance of plugging all weak areas of the party and consolidate the party's strength.
Pending payments of old age schemes implemented under the State Government and the Central Government would be paid before April 14.Required amounts have already been sanctioned.
Pension amounts would be distributed in cash irrespective of whether beneficiaries have opened bank accounts or not.
Funds required for payment of pending honorariums of Anganwadi workers and helpers have also been released but the way most of the Anganwadi workers and helpers have been working is far from satisfactory, Mirabai stated.
Graft practices and bribery did not figure at all during recruitment of employees to different posts through MPSC and appointment of SSA teachers.
MLA Brajabidhu maintained that BJP's return to power at the Centre would not have any impact in Manipur.
BJP and Congress will be strong rivals in the State Assembly election of 2017 but other parties would be immaterial.
BJP is not suited to the soil of Manipur.
Still there is a growing need to strengthen Congress party in the State, Brajabidhu said.
Former MLA candidate in Konthoujam A/C Dr S Ranjan was also present at the programme.
