Imphal, April 03 2015 :
A public meeting was held today at Poiroukhongjin Mayai Leikai against the alleged revelry and blasphemous activities committed at the holy site of Kaina.
The meeting held under the aegis of the Kaina Development and Protection Committee (KDPC) resolved to banish Pangambam Bharat and his family from the temple for good.
It is said that P Bharat and his family are directly responsible for the daily rituals and prayer service.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, KDPC secretary Kambam Dasho said that a temple dedicated to the ancestors of Pangambam family has been constructed at Kaina complex where a shrine of lord Mahadeva and goddess Durga is being constructed.
But Kaina is a sacred site for Hindus dedicated to Shree Shree Govindajee.
However, Pangambam family have been directly encouraging visitors to indulge in unrestrained revelry within the temple complex.
There were instances when fish curry was found among vegetarian dishes brought out from the temple's kitchen, Dasho alleged.
Meanwhile, Pangambam family have been raising objections against the Government's plan to take up different construction works at the temple complex.
After minute deliberation, the meeting decided that the shrine of Pangambam ancestors installed within Kaina temple complex should be removed within seven days.
It further resolved to banish P Bharat and his family from the temple, Dasho added.
