All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) is all set to organise a one-day Open Dialogue on issues in Manipur which had been "misunderstood and misinterpreted" at on April 11 at Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong, Imphal.
ATSUM President Emboi Serto said that most issues pertaining to the State of Manipur have come close to "hurting one another till today" and in an effort to come up with a healthy discussion on protracted misunderstanding, ATSUM thought it is wise to hold the dialogue.
Serto has also invited senior citizens, academicians, civil society organizations and experts in the State to participate in the open dialogue so that differences could be ironed out between communities and organizations so as to narrow down the gap.
The ATSUM Chief said that some of the topics that will be covered in the dialogue include issues related to mission/private schools, bomb blasts in public places, Meetei Mayek, bandhs and blockades, Autonomous District Council and the Sixth Schedule besides disparity in development and misuse and diversion of funds.
ATSUM has also appealed all civil society organizations, clubs and associations not to call any kind of bandhs and strikes on April 11 so as to ensure smooth conduct of the dialogue in the interest of the people of Manipur.
