98 new Covid cases detected

Imphal, July 29 2022:
With 98 people testing positive for Covid-19 out of 724 samples tested on Friday, the total number of Covid cases in the state has risen to 615 while the test positivity rate was logged at 13.5 per cent.
Out of 98 fresh cases (41 male & 57 female), 41 are residents of Imphal West, 12 of Imphal East, 9 of Bishnupur, 3 of Chandel, 9 of Churachandpur, one of Jiribam, 5 of Kakching, 2 of Kangpokpi, 2 of Tamenglong, 12 of Thoubal and 1 from Ukhrul district.
On Friday, 72 people were discharged on completion of the treatment/surveillance period from home isolation (57), JNIMS (8), RIMS (4) and SHRI (4) .
There are 16 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 24 in RIMS.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2129 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,38,984 individuals including 5,017 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed the lives of 199 vaccinated people, out of which 65 had received the second dose of Covid vaccines.
So far, the state has recorded 1739 positive cases and nine deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1714 new positive cases and nine death cases.
In the last 24 hours, 106 D-type and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities and 6966 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of first dose vaccinated population to 16,12,607, 12,85,097 had received the second dose and 1,98,509 administered with precautionary doses.
