Guv seeks help of religious leaders

Imphal, January 29 2022: Governor La Gane-san convened a meeting of religious leaders of Chris-tian and Muslim communities at Raj Bhavan on Saturday and urged them to extend all possible cooperation in the realisation of the goal for maximum vaccination of the eligible beneficiaries against Covid-19.A release issued by the Governor's Secretariat in-formed that 17 church leaders and eight Imams attended the meeting along with officials of the Health Department.

The religious leaders expressed their willingness to extend cooperation in the mass vac-cination while the Governor informed them about situa-tion of the dreaded disease, how to prevent it and save lives from the jaws of dead.

La Ganesan also acknowl-edged the contribution of frontline workers and civil society organisations and re-minded the gathering about efforts of the government to overcome the pandem-ic.

"The dedication for the people of the country will always be remembered by all irrespective of caste, religion and creed," he stated.
