NPP second list after BJP's declaration: Joykumar

After submitting his letter of res-ignation from the primary membership of BJP to the party president, Lourembam Sanjoy, who initially planned to contest the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Andro AC as BJP candidate, has joined the National People's Party (NPP) on Saturday.A reception function in his honour was organised at the Badminton stadium of Mayol at Iroishemba on Saturday after-noon in the presence of NPP national vice president and deputy CM Y Joykumar, NPP working president MLA L Jayantakumar and other candidates of the party.
Speaking at the event, Y Joykumar informed that the party is preparing to announce its second list of 20 can-didates for the upcoming polls, after BJP announces its candidates' list.
NPP would be fielding around 40 candidates, of which 35 are predicted to win.
Even if the number falls short, NPP is sure to secure at least 25 seats, he asserted, while adding that NPP will emerge as the single largest party and take the lead in forming the new government.
In his speech, Lourembam Sanjoy said that he joined NPP as he is impressed by the party's ideology and its leaders, in addition to the wishes of the people of Andro urging him to join the party.
