AR scales up border security

43 Assam Rifles has scaled up security measures along Indo-Myanmar border to prevent spread of Covid-19 in the border town.The arrangement has come at a time when there has been a steep rise in Covid-19 cases in neighbouring Myanmar.
This step by AR to stop any movement of Myanmarese national from Indo-Myanmar border into Moreh has been appreciated by many of its denizens.
Normally, people of Tamu town in Myanmar come to Moreh to sell vegetables.
In recent times, many of them have been found to be Covid-19 positive after un-dergoing RAT testing at Moreh Supermarket and other parts of the town.Due to action of the se-curity forces, illegal entry of Myanmarese people into Moreh town to sell goods de-spite sealing of Indo-Myan-mar border has completely stopped, though Myanma-rese products are being sold at shops owned by people of Moreh.
On the other hand, daily wage earners who used to haul goods to and fro be-tween the borders are now out of work.
