Hindustani Samaj demands arrest of culprits

Imphal, January 29 2022:
The Hindustani Sa-maj, Imphal submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister on Saturday, in-forming that they will not claim the body of Ashutosh Prasad, who was found death with multiple stab wounds alongside the road in Thoubal Sabaltongba Salam under Thoubal PS, until the gov-ernment gives assurance of apprehending the culprit(s) involved.
Locals of Thangal Keithel Kalibari Durga Temple held a public meeting on Satur-day, condemning the death of Ashutosh Prasad (35) s/o Siyaram Prasad of Bella vil-lage in East Champaran dis-trict, Bihar, who had been running a leather bag shop at Kakhulong area, Paona Bazar.Later, The Hindustanti Samaj submitted a mem-orandum to CM N Biren in connection with the death.According to the memo-randum, Ashutosh closed his shop and went home around 5pm on January 27.However, he never reached home and his lifeless body found the next morning.
Condemn-ing the death, the memorandum urged the state government to protect non-locals and investigate into the case.
It further stated that the body would not be claimed until the govern-ment gives assurances of ap-prehending perpetrator(s) of the crime and bring them to justice.
Ashutosh left behind his wife and three kids- two sons aged 5 and 2 years, and a daughter of around 6 months.
As such, the government should pro-vide ex-gratia as assistance to the family, the memorandum conveyed.
Meanwhile, the post mor-tem examination of Ashutosh Prasad was conducted at JNIMS morgue on Saturday.
